Configuration
In order to connect to Kydara E-Mail server with a standard desktop or mobile client, use the following settings. Not all clients will need all details, in particular, most clients will try to auto-detect port and IMAP/SMTP servers, so leave those fields empty unless the client requires otherwise.
There are three ways of connecting: IMAP with SMTP, Microsoft Exchange emulation (with instant notifications), and web UI.
Encryption is mandatory for all clients.
IMAP with SMTP
Recommended for desktop clients.
Setting | Value |
---|---|
Username: | <user>@kydara.com (It is important to specify the FULL e-mail address) |
Password: | <password> |
Authentication type: | plain (Because connections are encrypted, your password is safe) |

IMAP server: | imap.kydara.com |
IMAP port: | 993 |
SMTP server: | smtp.kydara.com |

This server supports IMAP IDLE.
Exchange
Alternative to IMAP with push (instant notifications). May not work reliably, because it is a reimplementation of Microsoft’s protocol.
